She often has her Kindle on Text-to-speech and I get really bored with some of the books she reads but this one was really good especially when the dog actually talks to me! Love the stories the escapades and I was a bit scared when you went after the Duck and was very relieved when you were rescued! I hope there will be some more stories in the future as it is nice to listen to something intellectual for a change.
Lots of love, Alfie x. There are, as with Ben Fogel's and Monty Don's books, lovely deep meaning, thoughtful moments, as well as lighthearted and funny moments, no giveaways, but if you like dogs and or Miranda Hart, you will like the book for sure. This book had me enthralled from beginning to end. I am a great admirer of Miranda Hart, but have always regarded her as just a very funny comedienne.
But this book brought out another side to her - a sensitive, deep-thinking, highly intelligent side, who adores her little dog, and who moves her to tears on occasions, just as her recounting these memories moved me to tears too!
I loved how she started the story by being a cat-lover, because I am a crazy cat lady with a little dog a bit like Peggy, so I fully identified with Miranda, and all through the book I felt she was my best friend!
Love this book. Good word that, hilarious, such fun! Typical, of what I call, Miranda speak. Thoroughly delightful and descriptive, including how we owners just know what our perfect pets are thinking just by how they look at us.
Humour is subjective so download a sample before buying the book. This is the first time that I give up on a book so quickly. It is confusing with random stories and forced humour. I bought it because I loved Miranda and thought her book who represent her personality, but there is just something not right about the writing, the 'plot' , the sense of humour.
Her life just doesn't seem fun or interesting and the way it is written just doesn't flow with me. Once again, it is very subjective so download a sample first to hav an idea. I read Graham Norton's witty and interesting Memoir just before and loved it so maybe that's why Miranda's book didn't go down well as their writing is miles apart. What a lovely book. I love Miranda Hart and been to see her love and she's just a lovely person.
Her book is just like her and I could hear her reading it in my head as I was reading it. Full of laugh till you think you're going to die parts and you're going to need tissues parts. Miranda made Peggy the star of the show and it was well written. Such fun. One person found this helpful. This book hit the spot for me!
It's made me laugh out loud several times and a book I can relate to so well. What's more refreshing than someone confirming how much you are allowed to love your doggy?

I was thrilled to find Miranda Hart, and have enjoyed her book, her tv show and now her radio show on this audio cd. Many of the setups are translated from the radio show to the tv series, but become more visual on the way for obvious reasons.
But the radio show humour is spot on - funny, witty, a little bit rude, but just good-natured jolly good fun. Her co-stars are great, and fit in with the roles perfectly; Miranda's awkward social life is portrayed beautifully in these four episodes, which focus largely on her mother's attempts to marry her off, Stevie's attempts to make a successful business out of the joke shop, and Miranda's attempts to fascinate Gary.
Along with these, we meet Miranda's high school chums, and the wonderfully acerbic Clive. A word of warning: be careful if you listen to these cds in the car, as I did, as I had to pull over a few times because I was crying from laughing so much.
Totally, utterly, enjoyment on a cd - a treasure. Please please please give us some more! I think we have a lot to learn from Miranda, who insists that the 30's are the new 20's, and also from her younger self, who makes us see how obsessed we are with technology and we are not enjoying life. And everything is always explained with comedy and life stories. And being honest, we all may have a little of Miranda in us. I quite enjoyed reading this, although I don't know if I would recommend this to people who don't know Miranda?
I don't know, I just kept listening to her voice in my head while reading this book, so that made it more fun for me. I also liked that there were some illustrations in this, I always love that in a book : More reviews on my blog: Lipstick and Mocha Dec 31, Jo rated it it was amazing Shelves: non-fiction , biography-memoirs. I find her hilarious and well, many scenes i could relate so well with it Yep, lots of awkward moments. Anyway to say i was excited to read her book, this kind of autobiography, is putting it a bit, well And though the whole book she is telling her story directed to her reader if you know her show, you know how it is Oh yes, it's an hilarious and sweet book.
It will make you laugh like crazy, scream "OMG Miranda, is just not you!!!! You'll definitely find at least one thing you can relate to her. View all 6 comments. Nov 28, Hannah rated it it was amazing Shelves: top I cannot express how much I love this book. But I shall try. I am not a fan of autobiographies; I often find that celebrities just don't lead the interesting lives we think they do. This is not so with Miranda.
I am in disbelief at the amount of ridiculously hilarious things that have happened to her. I actually laughed out loud, frequently, throughout this book. I also thank Miranda deeply for her 'Miran-ual', as she calls it. It is genuinely helpful to know that, when one feels like a twat in li I cannot express how much I love this book. It is genuinely helpful to know that, when one feels like a twat in life, worse things have happened to a very successful woman.
Her hilairious stories are punctuated with semi-useful advice, which I may or may not follow, and enjoyable tasks avec tick box-ing. I do love the end. What a marvellous way to end such a book.
I was genuinely moved. So moved, in fact, that I thought I would write this review now, rather than tomorrow, lest the feeling sould fade. Miranda, my dear writer chum, you are an extremely funny woman of the highest order, and I shall miss having your literary persona in my daily life. I wholeheartedly love you. Absorbing and full of moments that make you laugh-out-loud this book is a must-have for Christmas! I am a huge fan of the comedian and actress Miranda Hart who is such a funny, lovable site on screen from performances in shows such as Smack the pony, Absolutely Fabulous and not going out as well as the hilarious sitcom Miranda Her recen Absorbing and full of moments that make you laugh-out-loud this book is a must-have for Christmas!
Her recent performance as Chummy in the popular and fantastic new BBC drama Call the Midwife was just spectacular, and so hence why many adoring fans will be eagerly waiting finding this book in their Christmas stockings this year. She is naturally funny because of her openness and candid personality that is charming and loveable, and which is also clearly visible within this book. From school days to life as an office temp Miranda reminisces about those awkward experiences including the ones that she looks on less favorably, as well as about her breakthrough in comedy and working as an actress.
Much caution is needed when you flick through those pages of Miranda as her eighteen year old self that gives you a deeper insight into this remarkable celebrity figure. Miranda Hart is a national treasure who especially within the last few years has proved her to be worthy of high critical acclaim and most deserved of all the praise and adoration that she receives from many admiring fans.
If you carefully navigate the awkwardness that is Miranda through and through, you will see another side to this iconic figure who is just as human as you or I and who is pure, unadulterated and totally genius. Unlike some celebrities she is also a great writer who effortlessly puts down onto paper all of her personality and charm, which is as exciting and enjoyable to read as it is to watch the person herself on television.
I have to applaud this bumbling, splendid attempt to create such a volume that depicts Miranda splendidly at a young age right through to her adult years, being something to treasure and cherish as much as the person herself. Full of heartfelt sincerity, charisma and cheer this comedy queen gives her unique thoughts and advice on the most challenging, baffling and unconventional parts of her life in comparison with others.
Easy to read and full of wit this is a book that you will be unable to put down and which had me glued to the pages throughout, therefore I advise that you look closely in your stocking on Christmas morning for you might find a real treat buried inside! Jun 07, Arielle Walker rated it liked it Shelves: memoir-and-biography , non-fiction. I absolutely adore Miranda. I've lost count of how many times I've watched and re-watched her show, which is better than chocolate or chicken soup for cheering me up, de-stressing me or just generally making me laugh til I can't breathe.
I guess all I can say is this: as laugh out loud funny as Is It Juts Me can be - she simply translates better on film. I think it just became a little exhausting after a while, and I ended up taking a good month to read it 3.
I think it just became a little exhausting after a while, and I ended up taking a good month to read it because I had to keep taking breaks. I really really hope that she does an audiobook version of it because THAT would be absolutely perfect. OH wait! Just realised that there is an audiobook that she reads. This has been directly requested from my library and I await it with glee.
Such fun! Oct 23, Gemma rated it it was ok. Love Miranda but the style of this book was not for me. A fair few laugh out loud moments but the chatty, kooky style of Miranda didn't translate well in to book form for me. Funny but 2 stars.
